Garden Machinery Servicing
We can service any type of garden and landscaping machinery, examples of which are listed on our repairs page.
If you can bring your machine to us, then there is no need to book or call ahead. Just drop your machine in during our opening hours - FIND US.
Alternatively, if you are unable to bring your machine to us, then why not make use of our collection and delivery service. Call us on 01656 743732 to organise.
In order to keep your garden and landscaping machinery in optimum working order, we recommend getting them serviced once a year. An ideal time for this is when the season comes to an end and you are parking up your machine for the winter period, or in the case of chainsaw users, once the log cutting season is over. This way you will beat the spring time rush, with your machine ready and raring to go.
We regularly pick up machines from the surrounding Bridgend and Vale areas including: Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Cefn Cribbwr, Laleston, Cefn Glas, St Brides, Ogmore-By-Sea, Porthcawl, Ewenny, Corntown, Treoes, Cowbridge, Llantrisant, Groes Faen, Bryncethin, Maesteg, Coity, Pencoed, Margam, Neath, Port Talbot.
Our large van with full fold out ramp can safely transport most machinery including ride on tractors up to a 50” deck. If you have a machine larger than this, we can organise pick up using a 4x4 and trailer.
What does a service involve?
Prolonging the life of your machine is the number one aim of servicing…
A thorough wash off to rid your machine of built up dirt, grass and grime will prolong the life of the body work, deck and/or casing. A build-up of grass and grime can lead to malfunction of the machine, including belts coming off stopping drive and/or blades cutting. It is also the number one contributor to deterioration and rusting. People also don’t realise that a build-up of grass can be a fire hazard, particularly with ride on mowers, so we get in all those hard to reach areas to give it a thorough clean.
To prolong the life of the engine and to give it the best chance of performing to its optimum level, it will get an oil change, cleaned or new filters, spark plug, fuel components cleaned, checks of the starting procedures including the recoil mechanism and engine rpm.
Machine dependent, we also sharpen the blade(s) / chain / cylinder, check and lubricate pivot points/bearings, adjust and check the operation and condition of the overall machine including cables, recoils, safety functions, belt / chain drives etc, gear box/drive systems.
If necessary, the technician will change any worn serviceable parts, e.g. belts, recoil ropes, batteries, blades and may make repairs or change broken parts as deemed appropriate. The technician may also note any advisories for your machine(s), which we will make you aware of on collection.
